Join intellectual property lawyer Michelle Katz for a fun and informative run-down of the powerful legal protection known as copyright. Michelle will discuss the basics of intellectual property law, explain the many benefits of copyrighting your work, and cover the process of applying for copyright. She’ll also debunk some common copyright myths, and make sure that you, as an artist, understand what material is fair use for creating your work, and what is protected by copyright.

About Michelle Katz
Michelle Katz has worked as a lawyer for over 26 years, including time as in-house counsel for the Writers Guild, major motion picture studios and internet companies. She currently works with a network of local and international lawyers to help artists, designers, inventors, and a variety of new companies develop, launch and grow their businesses. Michelle is on the faculty at Art Center College of Design and California College of the Arts, teaching business law.
